Take a trip through time in Arizona's Breathtaking canyon COuntry

Vermillion Cliffs Hiking Overview
Vermillion Cliffs Hiking Details
Northern Arizona is home to diverse topography and important geology.  Among the most diverse and important is the Vermillion Cliffs area north of Grand Canyon.  Home to the Paria River, it is perhaps the most unqiue and geologically diverse place on the Colorado Plateau, a distinction not to be taken lightly.  It hosts the physiographic edge of the Colorado Plateau, yielding the famous Mogollon Rim, and some of the most scenic sheer-walled canyons in the southwest including world-famous Monument Valley, the Horseshoe Bend, Antelope Canyon, West Clear Creek Canyon, and Sycamore Canyon.  It is also home to important riparian areas that feed into the Verde River, central Arizona's most significant waterway.

This area is truly special, and hiking for a day here will not only open your eyes to geologic majesty, but leave you wanting more.

Tours to Canyon Country include explorations of many of our states beautiful, river and wind-carved canyons, incuding spectacular slots and wide open gorges.

Tours into rim country includes some of the most picturesque scenery in the state such as Fossil Creek, the Verde River, ruins near Cottonwood and the historic copper and silver mining Towns of Jerome and Clarksdale.

Day adventures to this region includes exploration in some remote and wild areas with a variable climate.    Services not readily availble, and cell phone service can be spotty.

The climate here is high desert, which means hot, dry summers and relatively mild winters.  Good physical conditon is required, realistic knowledge of individual limits, and general preparedness are musts (see our blog for training and packing tips).
